1. Tell us a bit about yourself.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, constantly inspired by my father’s passion, entrepreneurial spirit and business success. My father owned the largest privately owned chain of women’s clothing stores in the US in the late 60′s and 70′s. He had such a passion for his work, and his entrepreneurial spirit quickly rubbed off on me. He always told me “If you want something, create it yourself.” I’ve held onto this advice throughout my entire life.

2. What has your entrepreneurial journey been like?

I started my first business, Expressions by Ali, in college at Arizona State University where I studied journalism. There, I wrote personalized poetry for special occasions and then began to mass market them as greeting cards for MCI. The business evolved, and by the time I turned 25, it evolved into a National Advertising and Public relations firm in San Diego called The Barali Group.  With so many deadlines, I was working night and day. I became externally successful, but internally, I was a mess. I felt disconnected from who I was, and then experienced a car accident, which was a huge wake-up call. It made me realize that the path I was on wasn’t the path I wanted to take in life. I knew I had to make a life-changing decision to leave the agency and go after my true passions.

With a huge leap of faith, I did it, I left everything: my marriage, career, and started fresh. Since then, I’ve been able to find so much more happiness and balance in my life. Over the past 25 years, I’ve gone on to build 9 more successful companies that I have been completely passionate about, including: a real estate investment company, a scuba diving certification program, a thriving hair salon and an international jewelry and accessory line. I even manifested my soul mate!

In 1995, homeopathy became a huge passion of mine. I studied homeopathy and became an expert practitioner and CEO of the Homeopathic Wellness Center in Encinitas, Calif., where I have been practicing for the past 16 years. In 1999 I built the Homeopathic Academy of Southern California, which is still one of the most renowned homeopathic colleges in the country.

My newest business adventure, AllieLor Collections, features one-of-a-kind jewelry and accessories from artisans around the world.

Now I enjoy passing on my business wisdom to entrepreneurs around the world in my one-on-one Blast Off! Business and Life Mentoring and Pinnacle Entrepreneurial Mastermind program, which is for big thinking business owners. I have mentored thousands of individuals to create an inner and outer wealth by helping them grow a prosperous business and a passionate life. Self Made Magazine recently named me, “One of the Top Women Entrepreneurs Who Inspire”. I am also a No. 1 bestselling author of my book, Blast Off! The Surefire Success Plan to Launch Your Dreams Into Reality. I believe entrepreneurship is the most natural and powerful way to express your gifts and help people live better lives.

When I’m not mentoring or discovering one of a kind pieces from around the world, I produce and host my own show,  Allie & You, The Business Success and Lifestyle Show, where I share business trends, strategies and highlight successful entrepreneurs, artists and talents that have made it against all odds.

3. What was your favorite mistake?

My favorite mistake was running myself over with my car in my early 30′s. Yes, you read that correctly. This was the biggest faux pas of my life! I was so focused on where I was going, that I was not present in my journey. The accident truly shook me awake and helped me see how I needed to make a change right then and there. So I did. I walked away from it all and made a big commitment to myself to only embark on businesses, relationships and a lifestyle that I felt completely passionate about, and I never looked back.

4. What is one lesson you learned along the way that you think every woman who is considering starting her own business should know?

Live your truth and only embark on adventures and relationships that you are 100% passionate about. It’s either a ‘Hell Yes’ or forget about it. If you go after something just because of the money, your drive and determination will fizzle out, just when you need it the most. However, if you are passionate about it and it has meaning to you on a deeper level you will give it the energy and effort that it needs to succeed and you will hang in there when it feels like your back is against the wall.  When failure is not an option, any walls you hit are a mere challenge that needs a solution. And when you keep looking, there is always, always a solution.

Where do you see yourself and your company in 5 years?

In five years, I plan to continue doing what I do now. I feel blessed doing the work I do and helping others reach their dreams.

I was wondering if you ever cdeisonred changing the structure of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
