The temperature keeps rising and so do the number of work sponsored events such as company picnics and after work networking hours. So what does a young, professional woman who wants to look her best wear – especially if these events are outdoors? We want to be comfortable, but still work appropriate. You want your coworkers to remember you for your intelligent conversation and work related accomplishments and not your unprofessional dress!
Common sense applies here: do not wear anything that shows too much cleavage or is too short. Yes, you are at this event to have fun and mingle with your coworkers, but do not discount the fact that your boss and perhaps boss’ boss will be there. While these sorts of events offer a great opportunity to bond with your coworkers and unwind after work, the impressions made at these events will also carry over into the office.
